As a part of their continuing investigation into the on-going narcotics trafficking in Delaware County, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested and charged 42-year-old Elijah Nixon, of Walton, with two counts of 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Deputies anticipate additional charges will be filed at a later time.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Criminal Investigators and Deputies, assisted by the Walton Village Police Department and Otsego County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, a search warrant was used that resulted in the seizure of approximately an ounce of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Nixon is accused of possessing cocaine with intent to sell, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering and physically striking a Deputy and Sheriff’s patrol car with his vehicle as he attempted to flee and avoid arrest. Nixon, formerly of Rochester, NY, who has an extensive criminal record containing numerous convictions for several violent felonies, was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail pending a future court appearance.
