A big snow blow is on tap for our region leading up to Thanksgiving Day.  Its kind of embarrassing to be warning about a potential for 7 inches of snow after Buffalo just had 7 feet of snow, but here is the latest from the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

  • ... WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...
  • * LOCATIONS... IN PENNSYLVANIA, LUZERNE, LACKAWANNA, WYOMING, WAYNE, AND PIKE COUNTIES. IN NEW YORK, SULLIVAN, DELAWARE, AND OTSEGO COUNTIES.
  • * HAZARDS... HEAVY SNOW.
  • * ACCUMULATIONS... POTENTIAL FOR 7 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW. BEST CHANCE FOR 7 INCHES OR MORE WILL BE AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS, ESPECIALLY IN PIKE, SULLIVAN, AND DELAWARE COUNTIES. AMOUNTS IN THE VALLEY CITIES INCLUDING WILKES-BARRE AND SCRANTON PENNSYLVANIA WILL BE A BIT LOWER.
  • * TIMING... SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY MORNING... AND MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING... BEFORE GRADUALLY DIMINISHING LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY.
