Rare 1947 Bresee’s Christmas Photo Surfaces!

Listeners have shared a photo that originated with Kitty Gould Myers on Facebook.  Kitty's father was John Gould, a well-known local photographer.  Kitty's brother, Pete, owns and operates Morris Garage on Oneida Street in Oneonta.

What a wonderful holiday photo this is.  It shows customers lined up for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus in the upper level of Bresees in 1947.  I was amazed at the clarity pf the photo, as well as the clothing everybody was wearing to go shopping.  Look at all the nice coats and hats people are wearing.  Back in the day, everybody got dressed up to go downtown!
