#9...What else can I say except the Bresee's Christmas windows on Main Street! Perhaps one of the most sentimental and warmest memories for Baby Boomers in our area. This is our final Bresee's memory for this Holiday season. Many thanks to my friend Marc Bresee for making these available to all of my many listeners...
Every person and business did their part during World War II to support the war effort.
And that included Bresee's Oneonta Department Store.
The store handed out helpful little booklets (photo above) that instructed their customers on behavior during the war years...

After nearly seven years of construction, the dilapidated former Bresee's Department Store building on Main St., Oneonta, re-opened Tuesday as a commercial property.
I love this old 1955 photo of Downtown Oneonta! Look at the old businesses, the old Bresees facade, the shoppers on the street, those big neon overhanging street lamps, and especially those great old cars! I mean, you gotta love that great convertible in the forefront...
