State police at Cobleskill say one person was killed and two others were seriously burned after a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle collided in the town of Richmondville on Sunday afternoon.

At about noon Sunday, Cobleskill troopers responded to reports of a tractor-trailer traveling off of an Interstate 88 westbound overpass and striking the passenger vehicle below, which was traveling on state Route 7 in Richmondville in Schoharie County.

When troopers arrived, both vehicles were engulfed in flames. The tractor-trailer driver, whose identity was withheld Sunday night pending notification of family, was found dead in the wreckage.

The two occupants of the passenger vehicle were taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of burns. Troopers ask anyone with information about the accident to call the Cobleskill station at (518) 234-9402.
