Norwich, Chenango Hospice to Hold Tree Lighting Ceremonies Thursday

This Thursday the Norwich Business Improvement District and Hospice of Chenango County will hold tree lighting ceremonies. The Business Improvement District's will be on the steps of the Chenango County Courthouse in downtown Norwich, while Hospice will "Light Up a Life" inside NBT Bank's main branch lobby.

The event in West Side will start at 6:30.

The combined choirs of Gibson and Perry Browne elementary schools will fill the courthouse steps with hundreds of students singing holiday favorites. The tree lighting ceremony is in West Side Park in downtown Norwich.

Following the tree lighting ceremony, children are invited to visit Santa in his cottage across the street in East Side Park.

Hospice of Chenango county will hold its annual tree lighting from 7-8 p.m.

The tree will be decorated with memorial ornaments bearing the names of loved ones who have passed away. Ornaments will be on sale before and after the tree lighting.
