Maiurano Plants Trees in Norwich’s Kiwani Park to Celebrate Arbor Day

Norwich Mayor Joseph Maiurano joined with the Norwich Parks Commission and Tree Committee Friday morning in Kiwanis Park in Norwich to take part in a tree planting ceremony.

Mayor Maiurano read a proclamation naming Friday, April 26, Arbor Day in the city of Norwich.

The park, located next to the Chenango River has a numb of older of trees that need to be replaced.

Mayor Maiurano also announced that the city of Norwich has been named a "Tree City U.S.A." for the past 22 years.
