Chenango United Way Surpasses Fundraising Goal

Good news for the Chenango United Way campaign.

It was reported last week that contributions this year totaled $444,875, which is $875 more than the goal.

Elizabeth Monaco, Executive Director of Chenango United Way, said this is the first time the campaign has reached its goal since 2008.

Monaco said that because the goal this year was $4,000 more than last year, the results were beyond expectations.

She credits the many companies in Chenango County and the fact that the economy is beginning to turn around.
