Chenango County Sex Offender Shawn Fowlston Found After Day-Long Manhunt

Missing level 3 sex offender Shanw Fowlston, 28, was located at around 8:45 p.m. in a room at the Sherburne Motel after a 24-hour manhunt.

Norwich Police officers, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office and members of the U.S. Marshal Service Regional Fugitive Task Force located Fowlston and took him into custody without incident. He was returned to the Norwich Police Station to await arraignment.

Fowlston had just been released on parole this week, but was being sought on two warrants for an incident that happened early Tuesday afternoon in a private residence. The warrants were for forcible touching and one for harassment.

Fowlston was convicted of third degree rape in January.
