Jeffrey A. McGough, 18, turned himself into to state police this week. McGough is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Connor Delaney in the Town of Richmondville.
Investigations are continuing by the New York Attorney General’s Office and the state Commission of Corrections after an inmate was found unconscious inside his Otsego County jail cell. Corrections officers performed CPR but the man was pronounced dead after being taken to Bassett Medical Center.

Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl says Bradley C. Cook of Oneonta, 21, is facing up to 50 years in prison following his conviction of multiple sex crimes against a child. According to Muehl, a jury found Cook guilty of engaging in sex acts on two occasions with a child younger than 11 years old.

New York State troopers arrested Kenneth A. Carson, 37, on April 10th and charged him with multiple felonies. He allegedly attempted a break-in of a Springfield home. An investigation found Carson in possession of “ghost” guns, weapons without serial numbers, a home-made machine gun, and other weapons.
During April, NYSP will be participating in National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The crackdown will include increased patrol and checkpoints targeting drivers using electronic devices. The enhanced enforcement will run through April 11th.
