Walton Man Faces Felony Charges in Dog Shooting Case
The Delaware County District Attorney says a Walton man has been indicted on two counts of criminal mischief, two counts of animal cruelty, and two counts of holding stolen property. Four of the charges are misdemeanors, two are felonies.
35-year-old Jared Boice was originally arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty in March of this year in connection with the shooting deaths of two Siberian Huskies.
Following his arrest, an online petition was set up, inviting signatures from those who felt the charges were not severe enough. The petition, to date, has received almost 11,000 signatures from around the state, country, and world.
Boice is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Delaware County Court.
