The Town of Union is throwing its official support behind the plans to develop a casino resort at Traditions at the Glen on Watson Boulevard.

The 4 to 1 vote to submit a letter of support to New York State as a siting commission is considering where to award gaming licenses came shortly after a meeting nearby at the Endwell United Methodist  Church in opposition to placing a casino in Broome County.

The group, Save the Glen, hosted the presentation by Les Bernal, the National Director of Stop Predatory Gambling.

Tioga Downs in Nichols is also applying for the Southern Tier casino license.
