Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested

A suspected drug dealer from Ulster County out on parole was arrested Wednesday for selling drugs and leading police on a pursuit.

Police say Joseph VanLeuvan, of Big Indian, sold heroin and cocaine to a confidential informant in Fleischmanns and when officers tried to take him into custody VanLeuvan fled in his vehicle at a dangerously high speed.

VanLeuvan was eventually found at a Pine Hill residence after police located his car on Carr George Road in Roxbury.

He’s held on $250,000 cash bail.
