A listener asked me to solve a puzzle.  Maybe you can help.

Take a look at this old Oneonta postcard.  It is about 100 years old.  The image is quite clear and the caption identifies it as "Fox Memorial Hospital and Nurse's Home, Oneonta, NY".  Now, notice that it says Nurses Home and not Nursing Home.

So, the riddle.  What is the Nurses Home?  Was this in fact at nursing home with a different name?  Was this a residence for visiting nurses to stay at in Oneonta?  Where was this building?  I have a hard time placing the locale of this entire photo (the street can't be Main Street, can it?).  When was it torn down?  It looks magnificent, doesn't it?

Any help out there?
