Last night at Foothills Performing Arts Center, Duncan Webb of consulting firm Webb Associates presented a strategic plan for the currently closed Oneonta Theatre on Chestnut Street.  Members of Friends of the Oneonta Theatre, a group dedicated to finding a way to make the Oneonta Theatre a viable entity for entertainment for the community at large, were present to find out what possible solutions Webb Associates had for the historic venue to reopen and stay open.

Webb reported it would take $3 million in repairs and renovations to reopen the theater, and $300,000 annually would need to be generated in revenues. For the theatre to fully thrive, it would take $10 million, according to his study. Webb is recommending that FOTOT should seek a collaboration with Foothills Performing Arts Center since SUNY Oneonta is not interested in doing so.
