Stefanie Rocknak, a Hartwick College professor and sculptor, recently won the national competition to create a statue honoring the famous poet Edgar Allan Poe in the city of Boston.  After three national finalists were chosen to submit poroposals to the city for consideration, Stefanie won the commission!  Her finished work is amazing (see photo).  There will be a gala unveiling of her

work at a square in downtown Boston on Sunday, October 5.  The location of the statue (Boylston Street at Charles Street South) will be near the purported birthplace of the poet and near a Boston train station where he is depicted walking away from.  For details of the event and more on this incredible piece of public art click here.
