It's been a busy week for the city of Norwich.

On Tuesday, the annual NBT Christmas spectacular was held at the new NBT Bank office building on South Broad Street across from the main branch.

Well over 100 Commerce Chenango members and NBT Bank officials were on hand as part of Commerce Chenango’s business after hours networking events. NBT president and CEO Marty Dietrick was on hand to talk briefly about the NBT expansion over the last year.

On Thursday evening, a large crowd turned out in West Side Park in downtown Norwich to observe the annual lighting of trees. Featured at the ceremony was the combined choirs of Perry Browne and Gibson elementary schools filling the courthouse steps and singing songs of the season.

Also Thursday, a large turnout attended the annual "Tree of Life" event in the lobby of NBT Bank. The Hospice event gives those who lost a loved one a chance to remember them by displaying a tree ornament with the name of a loved one.
