Norwich Rotary Supporting Community

Among the many charitable organizations in Chenango County is the Norwich Rotary Club, which is part of a worldwide network that assists hundreds of countries in many ways.

At a business after hours event Wednesday afternoon sponsored by Commerce Chenango, officials and members of the Norwich Rotary Club were on hand at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich to explain their mission.

Rotary president Will Terrell says they are involved in many community projects.

"We were involved in the parks project here in Norwich," he said. "We sponsored over $10,000 to the parks project to be able help them with the renovations in the the East and West Parks in Norwich. We also supported local girl scouts and boy scouts in some of their summer camps."

The Norwich Rotary has been around for many years and is looking for more members in the community. You can talk to a Rotary member about joining, and then you will attend two meetings to see if the Rotary is for you.
