Cortland County Meth Lab is Shut Down
Another methamphetamine laboratory has reportedly been discovered in Central New York.
Cortland County Sheriff’s officials acted on a tip July 14 and say they found a man, living in a travel trailer, was using the vehicle parked on Route 221 to cook meth.
Police say a search of the residence turned up items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine as well as a small amount of marijuana.
45 year old James Homza Junior of Willet is charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine as well as lesser counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Authorities called in a hazardous materials removal company to deal with waste generated from meth manufacture from the trailer and storage sheds.
Homza was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $10,000 bail.
