The Carriage House on Southside Drive in Oneonta hosted a public Citizen Voices meeting on Tuesday.

The topic of the meeting was negotiating a landowner-friendly gas pipeline right way agreement with potential gas companies. Consulting geologist and lawyer Edward Zaengle was the guest speaker.

Zaengle discussed key negotiation considerations a landowner should know and the importance of the being educated.

"When you negotiate any contract, the knowledge translates into financial protection and property protection," he said. "You need to educated about whatever you're negotiating well before you sit down to the negotiation table."

Additionally, Zaengle discussed terminating oil and gas leases.

Zaengle has represented numerous families, farmers, and organizations in securing landowner-friendly oil and gas leases and pipeline right of way agreements.
