Christopher Knight, the "Los Angeles Times" art critic, is the recipient of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in commentary and criticism.  He was honored for his reporting on the construction and design of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  The Pulitzer committee said .The Pulitzer Prize board noted Knight "for demonstrating extraordinary service by a critic, applying his expertise and enterprise to critique a proposed overhaul of the L.A. County Museum of Art and its effect on the institution’s mission."  Previously, Knight was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize three other times.

According to the college's social media pages, Knight has a master’s degree in art history from the State University of New York and a bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College in visual art and literature (Class of 1972).  Knight was named Distinguished Alumnus of Hartwick College (Oneonta) in 1999.
