The New Berlin man who allegedly shot and killed six of his neighbor’s horses in April appeared in Chenango County court Monday for the second time.

 

Lauren l. McMaster, 75, was ordered to undergo a mental health examination. McMaster was indicted in May on six counts of 2nd Degree criminal mischef, a Class D felony, and one count of tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony.

McMaster allegedly shot and killed a total of six of his neighbor’s horses during two incidents in April. If convicted on all seven felonies McMaster could face up to 35 years in state prison.
