New York State troopers arrested Kenneth A. Carson, 37, on April 10th and charged him with multiple felonies. He allegedly attempted a break-in of a Springfield home. An investigation found Carson in possession of “ghost” guns, weapons without serial numbers, a home-made machine gun, and other weapons.
During April, NYSP will be participating in National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The crackdown will include increased patrol and checkpoints targeting drivers using electronic devices. The enhanced enforcement will run through April 11th.
NYS is observing the 26th annual Maple Weekend at farms throughout the region. Funded by the state department of Agriculture and Markets, Maple Weekend gives the public an opportunity to learn about the maple sugar making processes.
On May 21st, Walton Village Police arrested Bernadette T. Elston, 48, of Walton on a charge of arson, 4th degree. She was arraigned in Walton Village Court and sent to the Delaware County Jail on $500 cash bail.
