New vaccination clinics are being added in Broome County now that children aged 12 to 15 can be given the Pfizer shots.

The County Health Department says appointments are being taken for clinics at the SUNY Broome Ice Center Monday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 19.  Those clinics will be held from 4:40 to 6:30 p.m. so students don’t have to skip school.  Go to www.gobroomecounty.com to schedule.

Broome County is giving the single-dose Janssen Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Ice Center on Thursday, May 20. That shot is for residents over the age of 18.

Chenango County is taking appointments for a a 1st Dose Moderna Vaccine for 18 years and Older on 5/20/21 from 2:30 - 4 p.m. at the South Plaza - old Label Shopper Store, 5640 RT-12 Norwich, NY. Broome County reports three deaths this week from COVID-19. Two more fatalities were announced May 13: a man in his 70s and a man in his 80s, bringing Broome’s death toll to 340 with 17,800 cases over the past 14 months.

No other Southern Tier Counties reported deaths in the May 13 update.  Chenango County reports 12 new cases for a total of 3,388. There have been 76 deaths. Cortland County had a jump of 24 new cases for a total of 4,406 positive cases. There have been 63 deaths.  Delaware County reports five more cases for a total of 2,352.  There have been 47 deaths in Delaware County.  Tioga County had nine new cases for a pandemic total of 3,738 and 77 deaths.
