This was the granddaddy of all variety shows.

The Ed Sullivan Show had an astounding run.  1948 to 1971, 24 years and a whopping 1,068 "really big shews."

Sullivan was known for presenting many historic acts:  from the wildly screaming young fans watching Elvis go through his gyrations all the way through an incredible three consecutive Sundays when he featured The Beatles in February, 1964.

Jim Henson and his Muppets made many appearances in the show (25) but the king of all of them was the Canadian comedy team of Wayne and Schuster (58 appearances).  Other frequent guests were the puppet mouse Topo Gigio (50), comedian Jack Carter (49) and opera star Roberta Peters (41).

How many remember The Ed Sullivan Show?

Here is a long forgotten guest who made many appearances on the show.  Do you know who she is?
