Legendary actress Doris Day will turn 90 on April 3.

At one time she was the #1 box office attraction in the world.  Day was also a singer of great repute.  She was the "girl singer" for Bob Crosby and Les Brown.  Her 1945 recording of "Sentimental Journey" sold over a million copies and is considered one of the most beloved songs of the World War II era.

Day's movie career was long and popular.  Among her most famous roles are 'Love Me or Leave Me' (1955; with Jimmy Cagney), 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' (1956; with Jimmy Stewart), 'The Pajama Game' (1957; with John Raitt), 'Teacher's Pet' (1958; with Clark Gable), as well as several box office successes with Rock Hudson.

Doris Day had her own television talk show (1968-1973).  She is a well-known recluse who has not been photographed in public for more than five years.  She is beloved as an animal activist to which she has dedicated her life to for more than a half century.
