Baby Boomer Alert: A Penny Candy Nightmare From My Youth!

Nobody liked the penny candy down at the corner store of my youth more than I did!!!

The red wax lips,the black wax mustache,  the pretzel sticks, the fake cigarettes, fireballs, Mary Janes, the red hot dollars, the waxy coke bottles, etc. I loved them all.

But there was one....

I hated this candy when I was a kid.  I could never understand how anybody enjoyed this, at any age.  Honestly I thought they stopped making this awful penny candy years ago.  But during my visit to Vermont this weekend I came across a country store which advertised "olde tyme penny candy."  And look what I found!

I bought it, I tried it for the first time again after fifty years, and guess what?  It is still terrible.  See what you think.
