Old Glen Ashleigh must have been pretty proud of his hometown....he even wrote a song about in a century ago!  It was published by the Voctor Kremer Company, Chicago, Illinois.

I wonder how many locals bought this and played it in the parlors of the old homes in town?  Did little kids sing it in choir?  Was it on jukeboxes?  Oh, wait.  Jukeboxes weren't around yet.

And who did the artwork of the Indian maiden (at least I think it is a maiden).

I doubt if anybody got rich on the royalties of this 1904 song, but it still is a fascinating piece of old Oneonta history!
