On December 7, 1941, the Japanese conducted a sneak attack on our armed forces in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Thousands of American died in what President Roosevelt called "a date of infamy."  Honolulu and the main islands of Hawaii were devastated.

So what was it like four years later when the war ended.  We have seen the massive celebrations in Times Square and around the world.  But what was it like when the news that the war had ended reached Honolulu, where it all began "on the date of infamy?"

Luckily, someone picked up a movie camera and went out into the streets.  These rare home movies will give you goosebumps.
