Vintage Memories: Who Remembers Curb Feelers from the 1950s?

Anybody remember these from the1950s?

Curb feelers were wires that stuck out from the wheel of your tires to make a racket when you were getting too close to the curb.  Many classic cars came with white wall tires so these were a "must have" so as not to mess up those dazzling white wheels.

You can buy curb feelers and attach them to your "old" cars today to give them a feel of nostalgia.  And, original sets are all over eBay.  I just some found listed (see photo above)...for $30!
