Looking at COVID-19 case numbers reported by The Otsego County Department of Health (3/14): there were 15 new confirmed cases yesterday with 7 people currently hospitalized with complications from the virus.  There are currently 167 known active cases in the county with a total of 54 COVID-19 related deaths. The Health Dept. has a COVID-19 dashboard with daily updates for the latest information.

The health dept. posted a facebook message on 3/9 letting county residents know that local health departments can vaccinate anyone that is eligible beginning March 16 and therefore the county will no longer collect names/emails to alert vaccine seekers.  All clinic announcements will be made on the Otsego County Public Health mobile app, Facebook, county website and in the media. Delaware County Health officials have an update from yesterday (3/14), reporting 9 new cases yesterday. There are 133 active and there are 15 people hospitalized. Delaware County Public Health will no longer collect names/emails for COVID-19 clinics. COVID-19 clinic announcements will be made on Facebook and press releases. Registration links for clinics will be available at delawarecountypublichealth.com/covid-19.

Additional assistance with getting a vaccine is available to New Yorkers through the NY State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline: 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829). The COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline is open 7AM - 10PM, 7 days week, to help New Yorkers determine if they are eligible and schedule vaccination appointments.

In Chenango County, the health department reported new COVID-19 stats for 3/12 on their facebook page. At that time, the health department was reporting 72 active cases, 11 hospitalizations related to the virus, and the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 complications are currently at 63. For those who are currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and want to get on the county's wait list, send an email with your name, date of birth, address, phone number and eligibility criteria to COVID19@co.chenango.ny.us.

Chenango County Health officials posted this advice getting vaccines for those 60 and older (as of 3/3)...
The Chenango County Department of Health has been working with Bartle’s Pharmacy and the Chenango County Area Agency on Aging to help solve some of these issues that seniors are having with making vaccine appointments. We feel we must prioritize the needs of our seniors and do the best we can to improve access to vaccines for the 65 plus population. Currently, Bartle's does have appointments available for seniors. We will continue to do a vaccine update every Tuesday. It will be posted on Facebook.

Also, SUNY Broome has recently held vaccine clinics for those AGE 60+. All clinics filled but to check for available future clinics visit gobroomecounty.com/hd/coronavirus/vaccine.
