Drivers headed into the city of Oneonta by way of lower Main Street near Neahwa Park will notice that new lines have been painted on the road, and that the lanes have been changed.

The former two-lane roadway leading into Oneonta has been changed into one lane with a turning lane, and there are other traffic pattern changes along the way. But the new setup caused confusion for drivers accustomed to the old lanes.

The project, however,  repaired some of the bone-jarring potholes and manhole cover craters that existed before.

The city believes the changes will alleviate congestion near the entrance to Neahwa Park.
