ALI and FOX.

They are both world champs as far as I am concerned.

Today is Muhammad Ali's 71st birthday.  He is forever young in our minds.  Floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee through the years of our lives.  A world champ and a world class guy.  He was "young, gifted and black" and was one of the first celebrities to stand up and not just admit it...but to declare it.

Ali has suffered from Parkinson's Disease since 1984.

Michael J. Fox is 51 years old.  He has suffered from Parkinsons Disease since 1990.  He played everyone's favorite smart aleck Reagan supporter in the hit show Family Ties.  He was squeaky clean, very cute and super talented   His television appeal spilled over into films including the ever popular Back to the Future trilogy.

Parksinson's Disease is a nasty one.  It slowly sneaks up on people masked in the form of a funny little stutter or a comic gimpy limp.  Before you know it it has savaged your very being.  I know people with Parkinsons.  They struggle, they fight the good fight, they persevere   They are heroes.

I saw a promotional pamphlet for the Michael J. Fox Foundation which featured the image above.

Like I said...they are two champs in my eyes.
