New York State is getting an absolute whirlwind of weather the next 72 hours including a snow storm, a wind storm and a flood warning on top of it all especially for Fredonia, New York, Hamburg, New York, Lakeshore, New York, Dunkirk, Athol Springs, Wanakah and Pinehurst areas.

It's interesting to note how unafraid people were, getting so close to the riverbank and on bridges.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — State officials are reminding New York residents to be prepared for disasters. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says New York has experienced some of the most devastating natural disasters in its history in recent years, as well as the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

HERKIMER, N.Y. (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo will be visiting three upstate New York counties to provide local officials and residents an update on the state's efforts to help them recover from severe flooding earlier this summer.

The U.S. Department of Labor on Monday awarded a $4.76 million National Emergency Grant to assist New York with cleanup and recovery efforts after the severe storms and flooding that struck the state from June 26 to July 4, 2013.
