Suggested NYS Staycation: Natural Stone Bridge
The operative word this year is staycation. After the awful year many small attractions, businesses, restaurants, museums and retail shops had, I think this is the perfect year to stay in New York and see (maybe for the first time) some of the Empire State's great destinations.
The Natural Stone Bridge and Caves in Pottersville is one of the oldest natural tourist attractions in the country. It has been welcoming visitors for 200 years! And so much to see! Start with the largest marble cave entrance East of the Mississippi and work your way up (and down) from their. This is a great place for families because the kids loveit here!
In fact this is a great place to spend the entire day at. After you have toured the awesome cave and hiked the 3/4 mile trail, the kids will enjoy the full playground, snack bar, jewelry making, rock climbing wall, disc golf and more.
Pottersville is locate about a half hour north of Lake George. Its close proximity allows your "staycation" to not only include one of New York's most amazing natural wonders, but you are just a hop, skip and a jump from all of the buzz of the popular tourist mecca of Lake George.
So, if your are thinking of packing up the old station wagon, a picnic lunch, and maybe even the family dog and heading out for a summer adventure, may we suggest a staycation in New York might be the perfect thing to consider!.
