It seems like the never-ending battle against the influx of illegal drug sales in our Upstate area is one that ebbs and flows over time.  Some drug arrests take place either in a motor vehicle traffic stop or even perhaps an arrest can take place at the time of the illegal sale.  Other drug busts take longer, stretching over months of investigation.  That is the case of the most recent drug bust in Sidney.  The bust resulted in the arrest of two Sidney residents, both of whom now face criminal felony charges

The Sidney Police Department has announced that two Village of Sidney residents have been arrested on drug charges.  These arrests took place after a months-long investigation into illegal drug sales in the Sidney area.  These illegal drugs included heroin and methamphetamine,
One of the suspects arrested is Colin J. Stanton, 22, Sidney who was arrested and charged on April 16th, 2021 with the following:2 counts of Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, Class B felony.2 counts of Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, Class D felony.
Also, Jessica D. Ambrose, 42, Sidney was arrested and charged on May 25th, 2021 with the following:Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, Class D felony.
Both subjects were arraigned in Village Court where, in accordance with NYS bail reform law, they were released on their own recognizance to appear back in court at a later date.
Congratulations to the Village of Sidney Police Department, and all other agencies in our area, for their continue vigilance in battling illegal drug use in our area.
