Section of Rt. 7 in Worcester Closed for Road Work
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that NYS Route 7 between Chase Street and Mill Street in the Town of Worcester, Otsego County, will be closed until approximately September 1, 2020 to replace the large culvert over West Hill Road Creek. Inclement weather may affect the schedule.
Through traffic is being diverted to I-88 from exit 18 (Schenevus) to exit 19 (Worcester). Detours are posted. A temporary on-site walkway will allow pedestrians and bicyclists to remain on Route 7 while the roadway is closed to motor vehicles.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
