Schenevus Man Arrested After Family Dispute

State police arrested a Schenevus man Thursday on charges of Assault 3rd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a child, and Resisting arrest.   At around 8:40 pm Thursday 42 year old Shannon J. Suydam was arrested after troopers responded to a Delaware County 911 report of a dispute between a father and son at a residence in Schenevus.  Troopers say the investigation determined that during a dispute Suydam had punched his 18 year old son in the face causing injury in the presence of his 3 year old daughter. When troopers tried to arrest Suydam, he began to resist. After a brief struggle police say they sprayed him with pepper spray and handcuffed him.  Suydam was arraigned in Town of Harpursville court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on 25 hundred dollars cash bail or 5 thousand dollars property bond. His next court date is April 27.
