Santa Parade Attracts 2,000 to Downtown Oneonta!
On Saturday, November 23 more than 2,000 people gathered in a chilly downtown Oneonta to welcome Santa Claus to town and to see the official kick off of the holiday season.
The parade was one of the largest in recent memory. Many area dance groups entertained the throng, and a marching pipe and drum band stirred the crowd's soul.
Perhaps the loudest cheer came when the Oneonta High School Yellowjackets Girls Soccer team came through on their own float. These brand new New York State Champions were welcome with ear shattering cheers.
Thanks to the judges of the event for volunteering to do the thankless task of picking the best of the best in a a parade filled from one end of Main Street to the other with nothing but the best!
