The Otsego County Department of Health reports a bat found last week in Oneonta tested positive for rabies. Two people and an unvaccinated cat were exposed with the individuals undergoing a series of rabies shots and the cat is under quarantine for six months. Under New York State law, all domesticated dogs, cats and ferrets need to be up-to-date with rabies vaccinations. The Otsego County Department of Health offers free vaccination clinics and we have a link posted at our website cnynews.com
