The City of Oneonta will have its annual NFL Punt, Pass and Kick local qualifier from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Ted Christman Field in Neahwa Park.

This is a free local qualifying event for the NFL’s longstanding nationwide program. One boy and one girl in each of five age groups will qualify to advance to sectionals.

This year’s sectional contest will be held on Sunday, October 20 at Damaschke Field in Oneonta and will include winners from local contests held across the southern tier. Sectional winners may qualify for the Buffalo Bills team championship to be held at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday, November 3 prior to the Bills’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Any child born between the years 1998 and 2007 (children ages 6-15) is eligible to participate. Children may only compete at one local level event. Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event, or in advance at the recreation office in Neahwa Park. A valid birth certificate must be presented at the time of registration. Registration forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Forms are available at the Recreation Office and online at www.oneonta.ny.us/recreation.
