Prohibition Brought Out The Cleverest of the Clever! Look At This One!

A few weeks ago I was talking about Prohibition on the air.  Someone sent me a fascinating photograph of a pair of shoes with "animal hooves" on them.  The men making illegal booze would wear these on their feet to mask their footprints up to their stills.

Another photo has just come in.  A listeners sent me this unusual idea.  A lumber yard delivery truck was not what it was made out to be.  Booze was stashed behind the "fake lumber.

It really is amazing what some people would do for a drink, wasn't it?
