Plane Loses Propeller! Lands Safely in Otsego County Field (PHOTOS)

I got an email from one of my favorite listeners yesterday.

Don Decker and his family have been farming in the Laurens/Mt. Vision area for a very long time.  You have probably seen them along Rt. 205 using their magnificent plow horses churning up the fields.  It is always a sight to see.  It takes him all day to do the field work at Deckerdale Farms and he has taken the liberty of placing a Port-o-Potty out in the fields for his workers to use when "nature calls."

Well, a lot more than nature came a'calling the other day!

Thanks for letting me know about this!  Now, I wonder where that darn propeller ended up!

Here is the email from Don's wife, Donna, to me:

Hi Big Chuck!  Don and a couple of his friends were plowing with their horses this afternoon and finished up for the day. Don had more barn chores to do and the other guys wanted to get the horses home and come back after their plows. Don went up in the field and there it was a plane. When Bob and Harold came back Don told them that he was glad they came and saw it. He was sure no one would believe him The local guys from Milford area lost their propeller and were able to glide in the field for a safe landing. Like Don says, "What some people won't do to use an outhouse!"
