Multi-award winning singer Linda Ronstadt has Parkinsons Disease.

Published reports reveal that the singer was recently diagnosed with the disease and the she now sometimes must use canes and a wheelchair to move around.  The disease has left her unable to sing.

Her autobiography, "Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir," will be released in mid September.

The 67-year old singer is legendary for her crossover prowess.  She has won 11 Grammy Awards and has scored nearly 40 Billboard chart hits.  Her albums with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris ("Trio") sold millions of copies.  Her album of standards with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra set the model for other singers to re-record these great hits from the past (Natalie Cole, Willie Nelson, Toni Tennille, Rod Stewart, etc.)

Ronstadt was the highest paid and most successfull female rock singer of the 1970s. She had a major impact on a variety of music genres including country, rock, folk, jazz, popular and Latin.

We wish this legendary singer peace and health in the future.  Here is one of my favorite Linda Ronstadt performances.  She was touring Japan promoting her Nelson Riddle album.  It is funny at the beginning because she never expected the bubbles to fall down on her.  After a moment of laughter they begin again.  Her voice is so pure and clear.  And she looks great (does anybody else think she looks like Marie Osmond?"
