After a long stretch of quiet, things are opening up on the local live music scene in our Tri-County listening area.  More and more musical acts are posting their upcoming dates, some establishments are starting to book talent for shows, and some of our local communities are returning to longstanding (and very popular) entertainment routines.

6OTS (6 On The Square) in Oxford has just announced their summer lineup for shows in Oxford.  This will be their 14th year of providing music "on the square."  It all begins on July 11, and once again the free concerts will be held in downtown Oxford on Sundays in front of the 6OTS building in beautiful Lafayette Park.

Announced shows for the summer of 2021 include:

JULY 11:  The Nate Gross Band. Very popular local (Chenango County) favorite, playing all kinds of American music.

July 18: The Burns & Kristy Band:  Terry Burns played with her sisters as the popular Burns Sisters Band and gained a national following.  This group will come to Oxford from Ithaca.  Terry is an accomplished songwriter also, and her tunes have been recorded by a number of artists.  Ron Kristy is Terry's partner in this group and his songs have also been recorded for records and television.

July 25:  A returning local favorite Joe Crookston returns to Oxford.

We hope lots of our listeners and readers will turn out to enjoy these local and regional musical acts.  And to celebrate another small step on the "road to normal."
