The Otsego County Conservation Association has raised the funds necessary to initiate its “What’s In Our Water?” groundwater testing program and has chosen a laboratory to collect and analyze well water samples.

Working with Community Science Institute, based in Ithaca, OCCA will test approximately 83 wells throughout Otsego County at no charge

As the list of well test prospects takes shape, there is a desire for additional sites in the towns of Pittsfield, Edmeston, Exeter and Decatur in particular. Property owners from these and other locations countywide who are interested in submitting their wells for testing consideration are asked to call 547-4488 as soon as possible in order to be considered.

The final decision as to which wells are to be tested will be based on existing data, identified data gaps, and location, among other determining factors.
