There was additional police presence at Walton Central School District on Tuesday after an internet threat against students in the district was received late Monday.

After assessing the situation, Walton Police and the school district decided there was no reason to close school. Instead, the schools were in a lockout. The elementary school always operates in a lockout.

This is not the first threat against Walton schoolchildren. There have been four incidents since May, and Walton Police continue to investigate with assistance from Delaware Sheriff's Deputies and New York State Police.

No arrests have been made in connection with the most recent threats.
