The City Of Oneonta Police department announced it is re-accredited for another 5 years. Accreditation provides formal recognition that an organization meets or exceeds general expectations of quality in the field and acknowledges the implementation of policies that are conceptually sound and operationally effective. City representatives attended a ceremony in Albany on Thursday to learn of the Accreditation Council’s decision and receive their award. The New York State program became operational in 1989.
