The Oneonta High School marching band will not participate in Friday's Halloween parade, according to high school principal Nancy Osborne.

The parade was moved from Wednesday to Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy's impact on the area, which turned out to be minimal. The postponement conflicted with the varsity girls soccer playoff game and the OHS Drama Club's presentation of "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream."

Several band members would have had to choose between their commitments.
