Oneonta Church to Soon Be Apartments?

When leaving the radio station today I saw all kinds of construction activity going on at the First Church of Christ Scientist on Chestnut Street.

I noticed when I walked by it going in early this morning at 5:30 am that the church, which has been dark at that time for many years, was actually sporting a lit Christmas tree in the little porch over the front door.  It caught my eye.  

When leaving I asked one of the construction workers what was going on and he said they were renovating the church into apartments.  There was a lot of excavating going on to the left of the church and in the back.

This is the first I have heard of this.  Anybody else know if it is true that this old, yet modernistic looking house of worship will soon be apartments?
